Hey there!
So I got my Blackout set at last for the Washburn HM 5 series that came with the 85/81 EMGs. All set to swap them, take the bridge pup out and realize that the screw holes on the blackout pups are smaller that the ones on the EMG. This is not a 1 for 1 swap as I had hoped. I'm either going to have to slightly drill out the Blackout mounting holes or alter the screw holes in the body of the guitar to take the skinnier Blackout screws.
May I ask - WHY did replacement pups get created with different screw sizes from their intended replacements?! Am I the only one to have seen this? The only other thing I can think of is Washburn modded them, but I find that labor intensive effort for zero profit rather unlikely.
Any advice / ideas appreciated.
Thanks!
Paul
