Dec 15, 2011 edit: just got my Toontrack Superior 2.0 and am testing it out by remixing my older thrashy jam/song: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9410926 First superior 2.0 song for me yet, I like the compression and simple edit screen

no vox, but descent guitar solo, lots of HEAVY METAL CHUG :friday:

sounds awesome man! Love the heavy sludgey groove!! Kinda reminds me of Candlemass a bit, very cool

That's a sick guitar tone - what is going on there besides being tuned down? Seems narrowly EQ'd or something. I wouldn't know where to begin to approximate that sound.

btw - I'm talking about the heavy rhythm parts.

Many thanks brutha! the guitars in candlemass sound awesome, nice riffage for the doom and heavy metal and black sabbath vibe

Thanks brutha!

Its funny how different it sounds, not sure why different than my other songs. Im doing the same thing I always do - I record the riff twice, reamp with 4 amps, add compression. maybe I tweaked my rat pedal too much! I bet thats what it is. I gotta step on that rat! haha :beerchug:

I dig it, but then again, I dig all of your stuff.

Dirty riffage, makes me want to hit a strip bar and smoke/drink til closing time. That my friend is a good thing!

cool tune. not sure I'm 100% sold on the snare sound & level, but that's a personal thing. (when hit, it seems to go on forever like a "splash" - perhaps that's what you were going for) great solo!

thanks man, glad you dig the solo!

I have snare issues because of all the overall compression on my master, and that I dont know Superior 2.0 that well. I chose the "sandpaper" preset for the mixing of the snare, at :36 you can hear the snare separated from the cymbal, its not that great compared to normal metal recordings, I wish it sounded like this snare in Down song:

not sure how to do that...I messed around with it just now; If I chose other settings it would sound way too fatiguing like a spike in a sea of compression ;)
