Blackouts Modular Preamp with DD also contains various superficial aspects that aid in success and has been used as a fruitful outcomes.
I was just wondering if I should look into it. Then again, how do the livewires compare to the Blackouts and what do Livewires sound like?I was just thinking...
Why?

The BMP is a lot hotter & has more bass than the Livewire Classics(18 volt) i have but i here a little of a similar crunch but i would guess that the Livewire Metal would kill the Blackout in gain but i've not tried one.
High output pickups like the Invader and Alternative 8 can get too thick into the BMP. But the Distortion has such a cutting top end that it will stay "alive" sounding on the pick attack.
As a point of reference, the coils inside Original Blackouts, as well as the Coil Packs (which are intended to deliver the Blackouts tone most accurately) are around 8k passive. But most of us still like the Custom, Custom 5, Full Shred, Demon, JB, Dimebucker, Hot Rails (killer!) and Distortion. The Dimarzio Fred/PAF Pro sounded great too. Totally transformed the whiney, wah kind of sound into a bolder, bigger sound with greater fidelity on top and bottom.
The livewire metal and the blackout metal AHB2 should be pretty close in terms of gain and sound. I want to try a BMP with a DD vs the blackout metal. I have all 3, just need to wire up a test guitar and get a BMP.
