Blackouts without tone pot vs with tone pot on 10. Any diff?

In general, do the 25k tone pots that come with actives work like the 250k and 500k pots work with passives? I.e., do they chop off some treble even when turned all the way up? (I'm trying to decide between 1V/1T and 2V.)

SHORT ANSWER
Assume that anything that can leak away signal will leak away signal. The pre-amp should pretty much negate any ill effects.

LONG ANSWER
It is my observation that the old type, hard-wired, EMG passive treble roll off control doesn't seem to do very much. I suspect that the capacitor value is responsible for this. I invariably change the green EMG cap out for a .022uF (or higher).

The EMG solderless Passive Tone device is slightly better. Their VLPF device is kinda hit and miss. Suits some guitars well but not others.

This is my roundabout way of saying that you might not miss having a treble roll off tone control.

Is your wiring harness fully Solderless or traditional soldering except for the blocks underneath each pickup? I find that mixing and matching SD and EMG cabling can aid control format flexibility, giving you the opportunity to try both layouts before deciding.
