Blackstar Club HT40 Combo (potential trade inbound)

I have a potential trade lined up this weekend for a Blackstar Club HT40 Combo. I will be trading my Carvin Legacy Series I head. I've read nothing but good things about the Blackstar. Videos sound amazing.

I liked the Legacy's clean and liquid distortion. It was awesome for leads, but I'm much more a rhythm player. I couldn't gel with the lack of single note definition in chords due to the overwhelming low end.

Thoughts on the potential trade and/or Blackstar?

Before getting my Carvin Nomad, I was looking into the Blackstar HT 40 and the Marshall DSl-40C. Both sounded nice, but the Blackstar edged out the Marshall IMO. Having said that, The Carvin won out (great cleans for rhythm. Very articulate).

I didn't like the gain channel on mine. Only kept it a few days.

I really wanted to like Blackstar amps. The prices certainly are affordable! But I tried several and the OD sounded too muddy to me. I want very clear, defined, individual note articulation. I didn't find that in the Blackstars that I tried-out. The only Blackstar amps I'd be seriously interested in trying-out from this point on would be the Artisan series. The screen shots that I've seen of the guts are perfection.

The choice of loudspeaker is important. Some models ship with MIC "Celestion" drivers. Changing to something better should help.

I currently have a Celestion 75 Watt creamback that I'm going put in

And now they moved it all to China....even the Artisans...sigh!
The 1x12 combo and the 15w head with the 2x12" cab, plus the 100w head was something great!

The new ones are nowhere near, and cost more....I'll never get this costsaving sh!t on stuff like this!
