I'll tell you guys. Never have I been so happy about gear. These two little fellas are amazing. Sounds way better than my Axe Fx Standard out of the box.

Here's a little test clip with my Schecter Diamond J bass and Mayones Regius 6 with Painkillers:






Yay or nay?

cool! Im suprised that you like it more than the axefx though, but really they both sound about the same to me

tube amps get all that feedback and swells and tubey goodness that the modelers just cant doo...but ya modelers are kewel I use em a lot ;)

I was never really satisfied with Axe. Too much tweaking, too much options, never got the sounds I wanted. CAB's IRs are really well made. It's such a breeze to get the sound you hear in your head. Definitely have to try some other preamps with it too (and some aftermarket IRs ofc).

Of course tube amps give all that goodness but living in a block of flats... well, ya kno' ;) HT Dual has really and I mean REALLY amp like feel. I also tried Catalinbread DLS, Xotic SL Drive and the Bogner pedals but this is definitely the best for me.

Have you tried running anything in front of the Dual at all? I haven't checked out your clip yet, but I will soon.

Will buy a boost next week. Maybe Mesa's Grid Slammer or Fulltone OCD. I had the Secret Freq. on loan from one of the local shops but that didn't do it for me.

Man, I honestly wasn't expecting that to sound so good. And nice riffing too!

Thanks! Yeah, me neither honestly. I just plugged things in and selected a cab I liked, then recorded. Finally good sounds without tweaking so much.
