Let me start by saying the Fender HM strat is my dream guitar, now:

Someone has done the unthinkable and burned a perfectly good gutiar at the stake like some kind of salem witch trial...
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, such a trajedy...
I would never consider burning an american made guitar expecially an HM strat as they are becoming more rare and valuable... :smack:




That being said, if the auction doesn't go too high I will buy it so that I can give it a tender loving home where it can be played everyday and never burned again.

that has some truth to it.

I've e-mailed the seller to find out for sure if everything works right on the guitar now and if there is any neck or fret damage and all that great stuff. If I can pick up an American HM strat for a low price I might just cry, even if it was burned... on purpose...

Well... quoting mike again...

this just hit me, Mike is sooo right, this is the perfect opportunity to get a PINK HM strat Oh my, this could be a very good thing... change that bridge humbucker... but yes this could be a very good thing

possibly not a trajedy after all, although i still reccomend against burning a guitar that's going up in value as we speak...

Wow..... lol I've never thought about still keeping and playing a guitar that was burned, but that's just me.

What makes the HM strats so good?

They were Fender's attempt to keep up with the producers of super-strats in the 80's like Jackson/Charvel and also Ibanez, ESP, etc....

I don't know why but a while ago it became my dream to own one, and i've been looking on eBay for them on about a daily basis ever since.

They were made in USA, and Japan, maybe somewhere else too...
they usually came with stock DiMarzio Humbuckers, with either H, H/S, H/S/S, or maybe even H/H configuration... think i mite have seen a H/S/H one.

But either way, I'm a strat guy, and this is a kool way to stay true to fender and still the benifits of the locking bridge and nut.

They're great guitars that weren't really all the popular in the 80's, but their value is going up now... due to people burning them, ha ha

Call me crazy but I like how it looks ... Hmmm ... my guitars are slowly moving towards the exits as well speak ... maybe I scare them

:no: Speaking of Blasphemy, Has anyone happened to see the end of that rediculous Avril Lavigne video Sk8er Boi(I can't believe I just wrote that). She takes a PRS McCarty and smashes through the windshield of a car. I think I'm going to be sick. :barf:

People just have no respect these days.

Hendrix could get away with lighting a strat on fire... He's hendrix and if you can put on a show like him you can burn whatever you want.

If you think smashing a McCarty is bad ... watch Airheads ... it's a great movie ... and you get to watch a PRS Dragon getting smashed

That kills me. Why not smash and/or destroy cheap copies, and give the real guitars to me!! :smack:

If I remember correctly that's a stunt double. She also smashes a guitar in a different video and it came apart too easily like it was rigged to. It was a bolt-on. Watch closely next time.

you can't be for real. It had to be a copy of some sort. Even a film studio wouldn't destroy a $10,000+ guitar just for a shot.

Watch the movie man ... it could have been a prop ... but if a movie crew will destroy $140,000 - $700,000 Cars? ... Why not a $10,000 guitar?
