Blend pots

When you wire a blend pot, do you wire it so that fully counter clockwise is neck and visa versa?

I ask because my new PJ bass from Charvel is the first factory blend pot I've gotten and it has fully counter clockwise being bridge (Jazz) and fully clockwise being middle (Precision). However, if you follow the knob pointer this makes sense makes sense. It just seems weird that at 5 all the knobs point directly towards you.

I usually wire them so the direction of the turn feels naturally toward that pickup, e.g. counter > neck, clockwise > bridge. But since yours has a marker (and I'm assuming the marker starts with a center detent aimed at you and moves toward each pickup from there), then the marker moves toward the pickup, so probably the right thing for your bass.

Just to experiment I did a quick rewire and reversed the directions of the knobs. The taper of the pot feels a lot better now too. I think it's a log pot and having it wired "backwards" made it antilog.

It does, and it's a dual gang pot. It's wired so that with volume at 0 and all other pots at the center detent, they are pointed towards you perpendicular to the strings, which is upside down in my head.
