If I don't prefer the Blues Junior to the Peavey Classic 30 I'll be sticking with the Classic, and looking for future mods. Bluesguitar.org has a big .pdf file of mods and was wondering if anyone had done any of the basic ones. If so how much of an effect did they have on the amp? And how difficult were they?

Re: Blueguitar.org

The mods are kinda easy and well explained, BUT amps such as PV Classics are a pain to work on. You have to be handy with a solder gun prior jumping into these amps!

Yeah, the mods are easy to do if you know what you're doing and understand the proper safety procedures involved in working on an amp. Remember, amps have lethal amounts of current lurking inside, even when they're turned off. Poking around inside a tube amp can be potentially deadly if you don't know how to properly discharge the capacitors first.

As Thames mentioned, they are a pain to work on because of the construction of the chasis. It's not particularly difficult to disassemble, but it does take a while.

I modded my Classic 50 to Blueguitar specs and I'm very happy with the results. The amp is smoother, warmer, and less harsh on both channels, while having a better lead tone, more low end, and better definition to the mids and highs.
