Bonamassa Guitars

A new shop opened up in New Hartford NY recently thats run by Joes dad Lenny and this dude Bob. Yesterday was my first time stopping in and I was pleasently surprised.

The first thing I noticed was the amount of vintage gear they had. A nice row of tattered and torn Fenders (all working and all available to play through) from a Princton to a few different Bandmaster heads and 2x12s and they had an amazing 1966 twin reverb. I spent a good hour playing that amp alone. They had a few more amps like Egnaters, a Bogner, some amp called a Bolt, but I was mainly drawn to the vintage Fenders.

For guitars they of course had 4 different Bonamassa LPs that are Lennys personal guitars Joe gave to him. I played this odd blueish/green top that was just amazing from head to toe. Also had a 70s 'the SG' a real nice white with gold hardware Firebird, some strats, a couple of one-off hot-rodded teles and some odd ball guitars that didn't really grab my attention. Jan 1st they'll be getting PRS guitars in and Bob told me more Gibsons will be coming in soon.

The pedal selection was awesome too. Lots of 80s Boss pedals, some older DODs, old Marshall bluesbreakers. I played an original red Death By Audio Interstellar Overdrive (wasn't impressed) but still cool that they get this type of stuff in. They have alot of stuff you don't see everyday.

The best part is Mr. Seymour Duncan is designing a pickup thats going to be sold only at this shop. I don't want to give too many details away but from what Bob told me it sounds pretty sweet.

Overall a really cool laid back shop where nothing is off limits, If you walk in they'll let you pick up any guitar take any pedal and plug into any amp. If you get a chance to stop in I highly recommend it, they're on facebook too if you wanna check em out there. And I just want you guys to know I am in no way affiliated with them, Just some really cool dudes who i'm trying to help spread the word.

Re: Bonamassa Guitars

I plan on stopping in again during the week with my LP to check out a Fender Princton, if they're cool with it I'll snap some pics and post them on here.

Re: Bonamassa Guitars

Sounds great! I'd love to make the troop up there some day. It's around 4 hours up from me, though.

Re: Bonamassa Guitars

The Bolt, IIRC, was Roland's tube-powered answer to the early Mesa Boogie combos.
