Boss BD-2 Blues Driver = rock

I picked one up today after thinking that since the DS-1 was too much distortion and the OD-2 was too little distortion (and everything Boss in between was the wrong distortion) I should try the BD-2.

Let me tell you what...I'm happy I did because it freakin' rocks!

It does the lower gain, more saturated distortion and the boost is, for lack of a better word, "awesome". I love this thing!

Has anybody else played or used this wonderful pedal in their arsenal?

Does anybody out there know any mods for it?

in my younger days i got a mod for it that made it sound like a 5150

i don't use it anymore unless i'm stoned & just wanna play somethin real slow & real heavy

It is very good for fattening up a strat with a non-master volume amp. The first thing you notice is how much louder everything sounds and how narrow most other distortion pedals sound in comparison.

There are lots of mods out there for it. Some minor and some major.

How is it comared to digitech screamin' blues?
I just bought bad monkey and it's way better than boss super overdrive. one big reason is the hi/lo controls vs. 1 tone control.
that problem exists with boss blues driver, too. and screaming blues is much cheaper. is blues driver worth the extra money?

When I played the Screamin' Blues it seemed to have a little more gain or, like you said, it could've just been because I had the high/low controls set accordingly. I honestly couldn't say the real difference but, to me, the stock BD-2 seems a little more "tame" than the Digitech Screamin' Blues. I'm not a fan of Digitech generally (the GNX series is great though) and due to user loyalty, quality, a certain tone and what not I'm stickin' with Boss.
