Boss DS-1 Distortion mods. Any suggestions?

Anybody got any mod recommendations for the Boss DS-1? I just scored one from a pawn shop for $15 bucks. I've never really had any issue with this pedal stock but I know alot of people rave about how if you change this and that it will turn into a kick arse pedal that it's supposed to be.

I'm just looking to change out caps and resistors, not get all crazy with a bunch of switches and stuff like that.

I was going to suggest the TriRec mod but you said you didn't want a switch....

Monte Allums Recto mod is my favorite, without the extra gain switches. Ask I6, he'll rave about the one I sold him. (Then I missed it, so I built another.) I'ts eq'd way better than stock, but it's more distorted and singing than most modded DS-1s, since it uses the stock clippnig section. Many mods (like the Keeley SEM Ultra) that swap LEDs into the clipping section to open it up and make it more "tube-ampy".

If you want a freebie, there's a Wampler one I like, the "Vintage Mod", that's simple, with a low parts count.

DS-1s are fun.

The Keeley mods sound cool and I'm about to have one done!
