Boss ES5 Power supply?

Hi
Im new to the Boss ES5 ( just got it today ). Can it be powered with a standard 9v power brick as all the rest of my pedals on my board, or do I have to use the power supply supplied ?
Thanks for any help.

PS. Im using a Palmer PWT12 9v power unit and it has a space free which offers 300ma (The ES5 needs 250ma).

That’s fine.

Is it really only 250ma? I thought startup was higher.

According to the Specs on the Boss website it just says 250ma.
