Boss GE-10 into Blackstar HT-20mkII "review"

So, now just recently I plugged my late 80's Boss GE-10, in the effects loop
of my Blackstar HT-20mkII combo. I really like this amp, though I find it being very "hammocky" ; atleast in comparison to a Marshall/greenback sound. That is my reference .

Got the EQ, mainly to boost the midrange; aiming for a guitar tone between Satriani's first album, and Dio-Holy Diver. Yeah, and Iron Maiden's first albums.


Whoa! . Turned down the very lows and highs; extra 500, lil bit of 1khz, and 5db up on 2k. Sounds GLORIOUS! .

Even running the EQ's level a bit hot, seems to make the amp brighter, like I've turned the master volume. (Does this do the exact same thing?)


Later, I'll see what can be done on the clean channel. .

Using the bridge SC, with it's oversized pole pieces. Doesn't sound bad at all for 80's metal;- bright and bitey! Especially not with some mid boost.

Was considering a HSS pickguard for this guitar, but it was 69,99. Paid 12usd for the guitar .

EQ is the most underrated "tool" in the arsenal, next to speakers (the final EQ filter in a rig).
