anyone here use this ? its offered to me with good price. my need of EQ just for cut off the deeper lows of the humbuckers, without loosing the normal bass sound.what do you suggest?

Re: boss GE-7

it's alright. a lot of people say that it's noisy (which it does tend to be) but when i put it in the FX loop on my mesa or my line6, it's damn near completely silent.

i'm sure someone will give you some reccomendations for a better pedal, but i'll leave that up to them because this is the only EQ i've ever used.

Re: boss GE-7

I bought one of these EQ pedals 10 years ago and hardly ever use it.... I love high gain but hate hum and extra noise, which is trouble some..... The GE7 can add a lot of noise under high gain... But i do love the low end boost i can get with it.... i mostly have used it in the past adding extra low end thump to my 1x12 Combo amps... When i was using it i would only turn it on the split second i started to play and off the second i stopped.... After a while i just put it away in my crate of various FX's and have yet to pull it out in ages... i should grab it and experiment some more with it...

Re: boss GE-7

I've used a GE-7 for over 20 years as my primary overdrive/gain boost, running into the input stage af various Marshalls. I've never noticed extra noise, although I mainly use it during solos.

I don't think you're going to find an inexpensive stompbox-style EQ that's any better. The only major improvement you'll find is if you move to a more pro-level rackmount unit.

I agree it is a well built unit and the best in pedal form..... When i say mine is noisey it's because i have it after a DS-1 with the Gain on full.... the EQ pedal just adds or amplifies noise from the DS1... I want to try a Diamond distortion pedal... a Fireburst or something.... dead quiet but packs a DS1 style fuzz....

Re: boss GE-7

You may want to try the MXR 10 band EQ. However, if you don't need to turn the EQ on and off, a rack EQ is a much better option.

I recommend Behringer rack EQ, most are dual channels, but there's a single channel too. Also, they probably cost close to pedal EQ, such as Boss and MXR.

That is the ticket. Mods are pretty cheap. I believe the sniper mod is a bit under $50 for the parts. :)

EDIT: My apologies, $25 from tone-jam.com.
