Re: Boss Products

The primary problem with the ms3 for me is that the three loops are not moveable in the signal path, they one after the other. Boss might be able to release a firmware update to unlock that but they haven't bothered. I would have loved to get one otherwise because i use amp sim pedals & the ms3 would had been perfect for me.

That is interesting, they are movable in the 100 and 1000, maybe they are hardwired in the ms-3?

Re: Boss Products

^They movable in the ES5 & ES8 as well. With the MS3 you cannot insert an inbuilt effect between two loops or reorder the loops. I'm not entirely sure if they are hardwired, I feel its a software limitation since even the older GT models S/R loop was movable. It would make for an excellent all-in-one compact & cheaper rig with something like mooer preamp pedals in the loops

Re: Boss Products

I think it’s a hardware limitation. The ES series uses a mixer matrix to move loops and add spillover. I think on the MS-3 it’s all fixed. (Now Watch Boss release an update which allows it. ;))

It’s been the most requested feature in the MS-3 since they launched and it’s quite obvious so I would assume it’s a limitation.

To be clear, the block of three loops itself can’t move but you can move that block of three before or after effects.

The way I’ve seen the MS-3 used the most is with the three loops used for dirt. I have two dirt boxes and an analog delay and I don’t really miss making them splittable since I would usually not put anything between them.
