Hello,
I have just bought a Seymour Duncan 59th neck Humbucker, I have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional, I play blues, rock, hard rock.
I have to decide to buy the bridge humbucker, wich between this model?
JB SH-4
59th SH-1B
59/CUSTOM HYBRID SH-16
CUSTOM 5 SH-14
Lot of people doesn't really like 59th bridge humbucker, are you agree?
Thanks

Get the hybrid.

It's going to do what you want the best. The custom 5 is scooped, JB better in superstrats. I really don't know much about the 59 bridge alone but I think the hybrid will give you a tad more power but still be well within the controllable range of output.

I love the 59 bridge in my Les Paul, and I haven’t heard much hate anywhere for it.

Like any base model, the alternatives are tone tweaked, which *some* people read/assume are upgrades, making the 59 seem somehow of lower quality, value, etc.

I don’t agree.

If you are wanting a 59 with a little more punch, I would go with the 59/Custom Hybrid. It’s a great pickup.

I would go with the 59/Custom, I have one in a Les Paul and it sounds great! Also, a Slash bridge kicks butt in a Les Paul, well of course it does!

I have the 59 & SH-5 Custom in 3 Les Pauls, love it.

Have you installed the 59n yet? I like it in an SG's neck, but not in a Les Paul. Too boomy. Out of the bridge pickups you listed, I would go with the 59B. I like it, but I don't like either of the 59's as much as I do the Seth Set in a Les Paul. Duncan does not really make a hotter Bridge that compliments the 59n well. The Demon and Custom5 are too scooped. The Custom comes close, but I find it a bit brash to match the smoothness of the 59n. I did not like the 59/custom at all. To me, it combined the worst attributes of both pickups. Most people seem to like it though. The Gibson 498t makes a pretty good hot bridge to pair with a 59n, but again, I like it better in an SG.

I have the 59 Hybrid SH-16 in a Les Paul Custom - works great with the 59 Neck

Slash set is great as well

The regular Custom works well with it too. Lots of options.

A vote for the Hybrid. It balances very well with the 59 in the neck, and sounds great split, if you wanna do that, too.
