Bought a Pocket POD. Tips?

Bought a used Pocket POD for a small price.
I haven't got a power supply yet but I'd like some tips on how to use this thing.
I'll use it for headphone practice and laying tracks quickly on Audition.

Any tips regarding patches, how to set it up, etc? I know nothing about this toy.
I've heard the presets are useless at least.

Is the rectifier model any good?
Is it worth trying straight into a poweramp?
Jcm800 model any good?
Could I get away with using it into a PA and dropping two or three pedals in front for a small gig? :D

Re: Bought a Pocket POD. Tips?

I ended up giving my POD XT to a friend if that tells you anything. But I do have Pod Farm on my computer with a UX2 interface. The models for the most part are not all that great IMHO. That said, I generally prefer the Line6 concoctions over their models of real amps.

I don't know how the pocket pod models compare, but I wouldn't gig with it.

I have one and I think it sounds really good. the best thing to do is go go to their website, download that software, and download some of the patches.

The Pocket POD is a fantastic headphone amp. I need to get another one; I gave mine to a friend who had to sell most of his gear.
