totally new.

bump

would prefer a custom 5 for trade.

Re: Brand New SD Custom Custom trembucker for sale or Trade

Umm, tone?, I noticed you said you'd prefer a Custom 5 in trade. Why not just buy an A5 magnet and swap it out? Instant Custom 5. Get a ceramic too and you have an instant Custom. Just a thought. ;)

Re: Brand New SD Custom Custom trembucker for sale or Trade

where in the heck would i buy a A5 magnet from????

sounds like more work.

a bit of patience and someone will want to trade or buy the sucker for cheap.
Its a pretty popular pickup.

Matt will hook you up. The process to change the magnet takes a few minutes. Hardly any work at all and you can do it with the pickup still wired up. You just need to remove it from the pickup ring or pickguard. I swapped a few in less than 10 minutes. Just make sure the polarities are right and you're good to go.

sorry to be a party pooper, really.

Not to pull a thread hi-jack here but, what is the easiest way to do this part??? I've got a couple of magnets setting around and fear of screwing this up keeps me from doing it!!!

Re: Brand New SD Custom Custom trembucker for sale or Trade

I have done it as well man.

you just loosen the screws from the bottom of the pickup pull the magnet out and put in the other one.
Check to see if the pole peices on the pickup all pull so you dont put in the magnet the wrong way around.

I had actually dont it recently to an old invader pickup i have and i recall you need to put the magnet in where it gets pushed away by the magnetic field.

A polarity tester is the best way. Since I don't have one yet, I very quickly check which side (long side) is driven away from which row of poles and then make sure that it goes in that way. Remember, opposites attract, sames reject. Use a sharpie to mark the magnet if you have to.
