What Will be the humbucker model similar to the dactivator, but with:

- Less output
- a little bit more open sounding
- A little bit more versatile

I like the dactivator but it will be perfect for me with the described above.

The guitar is a schecter BlackJack with body and mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard.

what megadrive?

DiMarzio MegaDrive DP107.

D-Activator
Output mV: 470
DCR: 11.41k
T - 6.5
M - 6.0
B - 6.0

fairly balanced coils. mine reads 5.38 for one coil and 5.74 for the other.

MegaDrive
Output mV: 350
DCR: 16.70
T - 6
M - 5
B - 7

very asymmetrical coils. bar coil is 11.76 and the screw coil is 4.94

so. less output. more open-sounding.

I've kept it in one the guitars I've been using to test some brass locking nuts, especially now that the brass nut clamp blocks have arrived.

It seems that the pickup Megadrive is no longer manufactured.

Stock, we don't have anything just like that, although my choices would either be the Custom or the Pegasus.

Re: Bridge Humbucker similar to the Dimarzio Dactivator but better

When I think of a more refined D-Activator, I think of the DiMarzio "EVO 2".

Still tight and punchy with a fairly modern feel and response, but a little less "in your face" overall...definitely a bit more versatile and "open" sounding.

Cool suggestion.

I've been wanting to check into the Vai models. I'm looking at a HSS candidate that I might rout out for a HSH for that very purpose.

To be fair, I have yet to try the MegaDrive myself and I trust Darth's suggestions wholeheartedly, so that may be very a solid choice, as well :)

I'll 2nd the Evo2. Love it in my Eagle!

This reminds me that I have a MegaDrive and an Air Norton that I planned on putting in an Epi Explorer I picked up. I should get on that.
