bridge pickup in neck position

my dealer offerd me a dimarzio virtual paf bridge used and cheap.
can i use it for the neck position of my les paul?diimarzio tech said it would be bassier than the neck one.but acording to their tone charts its only by a fraction the bridge has 0.5 more bass and 0.5 les treble ,same mids.
will this work fine?
could i do this with other bidge models in the neck position and vice versa? fftopic:

It depends on what you want.

I love my 8.00K and 8.10K PGb's that I use in the neck.

For a friend of mine (a metal head) I matched an Invader bridge with a Gibson 498T neck. He loves it.

I'd say if it is cheap enough its worth a try. It'd be a thicker and less defined.

It depends on what bridge pickup you're matching with. If it's a fairly high output bridge, you should be fine. Also, you can lower the PAF in the neck and it won't sound as thick or bassy.

I love my PGb (8.4k) in the neck of my Carvin. it blends very welll with the Custom Custom in the bridge.

If you want a really thick sound without losing ALL your highs, you might consider and aph-1b in the neck.

I put an APH1b in the neck paired with my custom custom. Its the exact same pup as the neck version just a bit hotter which is what I wanted. They pair great, very little drop off in output, and when in the middle position with both pups on they sound terrific. Most of the time the bridge version of a pup ( at least for SD's), is the same as the neck version, its just has a bit more output. So as long as the bridge pup has more output than the neck pup, you should be okay.

It can't hurt to try but I think it's gonna be a mudslide. It may not matter if you're alway playing with high gain, but if you want a mountain-stream clear tone when playing clean, go with a real neck pickup.
