Bridge pickup questions...

I have a PG+ in my lespaul and a 59 at the neck.. it sounds very..well..tinny and trebly. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I'm not totally sure about this:

do all bridge pups sound this way? if so, are there any pups that give a good balance?

Maybe i'm just ignorant to the differences betwixt bridge and neck pickups, besides bridges being more powerful to compensate for string-distance.

or, maybe i'm just ignorant :smack:

Try a Custom or CC or C5. It's all the same thing w/ different magnets. It'll be cheaper to buy the Custom and two mags (A2 and A5) and see what you like. It should help to get you a better "rock" tone.

Which pickup sounds to trebly? either way though, regular pearly gates' could be it. CC bridge wouldn't be trebly either.

If I understand correctly the PG+ is made for fender. It's trem spaced
and has a A5 magnet. The STD. PG has a A2 mag. The A5 mags genarally
sound brighter than a A2 mag. This may be your problem?

Sell it to me!

Increase the pickup quite close to the strings, and burry the screw pieces into the pickup. If that does not help, get yourself an a2 magnet from www.ampge.com and swap the a5 in that PG+ with an a2 (turning it into a regular PG).

The fact that the pickup was made for Fender tells you right away that it's going to be bright! :laugh2: but seriously folks... I think the suggestion for switching the magnet is a good one.

Honestly, I was thinking of switching it to a CC or a C5 (I'm not totally sure what the difference is, or which one I'll choose, but that won't be a problem with all of the talk of the infamous Customs on the forum ), When I get a Custom (most likely a CC (if you have one, I'll trade!)), I'll definately sell you the PG+!
