Bridge problem.

I’m having issues on the middle two strings, they’re fretting out a little.

How can I raise just these two strings a bit? Is there a trick?

Re: Bridge problem.

Not an easy fix.
Where is the fretting out occurring?

The bridge raising is there to sort out the action on the higher frets, the nut and the relief do the lower and middle respectively.
Then if there are only a couple of frets as an issue you have fretwork as a remedy for buzz.

It’s happening around the 9th fret, but not higher or lower...

Re: Bridge problem.

Just a fret or two soundls like you have some high frets. Look at them and see if they seem like there is a gap under the fret itself......and get a flat card like a credit card (or longer), placed thin side along the neck and see if this rocks back and forth when placed on the area in question

Hey I found the high fret! Now what do I do?

Re: Bridge problem.

It seems like the middle of the fret might have pulled up a hair.

So it’s not a bridge issue after all.

How can I make it right to the board again?

Re: Bridge problem.

Well you could try tapping on it with something hard and plastic
I would think a hard plastic hammer
But the back of a screwdriver would work
Don't hit it with anything metal or.like a real hammer
It will put dents in it

If that don't work then leveling would probably be what you would need to do

Go to YouTube and search for fret leveling on guitar
There are literally hundreds of videos
Watch several as there are slightly different techniques in each one

You'll see most are similar , with some outliers ( ignore the one off dudes )
What you want to do should be straight forward

Re: Bridge problem.

Oh wait
Pulled up in the middle?
Rosewood board?
Fret may be edge glued
If that is the case then the fretboard shrank as it dried out
And pulled the edges close
Try oiling the dry board and see if it doesn't go back down
Do this with Lemon Oil furniture polish
Not lemon oil the grocery stuff

Re: Bridge problem.

Rosewood yes. Happened after guitar was shipped and got cold.

Soak it in Lemon Oil, give it 15 minutes plus to soak in. If there are dry patches, add more and wait. Once you’re left with some pooling in the board, pat it dry with a soft cloth. Then check that fret and tap it down as Ehdwuld suggests.
