Newer member here. I keep hearing the wonders of the demon in the neck. I would assume that would be a higher output for a neck, any recommendations for a Bridge PUP? Going into an Epiphone LP style. I play medium gain, not death , more hairmetal type distortion and tend to use my tone knob a lot. Think RIP type tones, already have the JB set. Just want to try something new. Thanks in advance, Happy Holidays All !!

Try it with a Distortion in the bridge.

Thanks for the response. Any customs or ALt 8? The Customs have me interested as I can switch mags, havent tried it yet. Was thinking Distortion as well.

Thanks. I gotta tell you, some of your encounters with Blueman had me laughing real hard. Is that pup readily available?

Re: BRIDGE PUP WITH DEMON IN NECK

The Screamin Demon is an excellent neck pickup! Totally should be marketed as one...or SD should come out with a neck version to market it as such. (if they do/already have done so then just ignore the last part lol)

My favorite pairing was with a Dimebucker. Great tone that handle cleans and drive so very well--lots of great harmonics with both. Very versatile combo that could cover most genres.

Here is a clean clip:

And here is a gain clip:

Thanks to all you guys!! That clean on the demon sounds awesome. I never play total clean anyway, thats for the flat top LOL

Custom family and Alt8 pair well with Demon. I like blend position from Alt8-Demon more though.

Re: BRIDGE PUP WITH DEMON IN NECK

My main guitar is an HH Strat with a Demon in the neck and a Custom 5 in the bridge. I have it wired with 3 way blade, master tone that coil splits both pickups and a master volume for each pickup. Love this combination.

I'm contemplating putting Alt8 and Demon in my next guitar, but that would be a basswood Jackson with a maple/rosewood neck-thru construction. Some would say that Alt8 would be too much for an LP type of a guitar. Although Duncan says that it works well in mahogany with rosewood fretboards:

Kramer put Alt8 in some of its mahogany guitars (with '59 in the neck, though):

Have no idea how they sound.

The Alt8 is a great pickup but very powerful. It would probably work fine in an LP, but you would want to set it lower than you would set a typical bridge pickup.

i have a demon and alt8 combo but it's on my rhoads v with ash body, ash neck, ebony board. i still prefer a jazz on the neck.

i'll try to find some time to swap my demon and alt8 to my epi lp and let you know how it's like

.

Ash neck? I can't recall any guitar ever coming with an ash neck. It's most likely maple.

Re: BRIDGE PUP WITH DEMON IN NECK

I wound up using the Alt8 and the Demon. Man shes got a growl and still sounds great for lead stuff. Nails the sounds I use
