I'm just curious what exactly makes a pup a bridge pup or a neck pup. Obviously output and voicing play a role. But what if for instance you have a high output bridge pup and you want a commonly used lower output pup for the neck like a jazz or an A2P. What makes a A2P n better than a A2P b when mixed with a higher output bridge pup. Also what are your opinions on pups that absolutely don't sound good in the neck, for example the JB is "preferred for bridge position" but I know it can sound great in the neck.
