bridge single coil 72 tele

Hey guys,
i finally decided on what guitar i'm going to get, and the telecaster one! After seeing that clip of Keefe Using it as a weapon for the people, i just couldnt resist anymore. So!! For the neck 'bucker pickup i'm thinking either a lindy fralin 3+3 or a fat cat for that p90' sound. But i'm alittle stuck on the bridge. A Quater pounder would suit it well, but iw ould like the guitar to be alittle more versitile. Maybe more EVH/PAF sounding. Would a lil 59' do the trick? Any other suggestions?

Re: bridge single coil 72 tele

LiL 59 would work.

My personal favorite if you want a fairly high output tele pickup is the rio grande muy grande. Still has all the tele character but will easily compete with a bucker. Twangs like crazy too.

Re: bridge single coil 72 tele

i'm seriously thinking a 59 bridge with a split/push pul ( so it will balance well with a phat cat neck when they are joined) and use the 59 bridge on its own non split for some Crunchyness

Re: bridge single coil 72 tele

Let me just say...if you're getting a telecaster and you don't want the bridge pickup to be twangy you are getting the wrong guitar, also those widerange humbuckers that guitar has in the neck is NOT a twangy pickup and FWIW that Widerange humbucker is bigger thn a normal bucker so you will have to get a new guardplate (minimum) to pit anything else in the neck of that guitar. All that said the least twangy bridge pickup you can put in a Tele is a Hotrails but to be honest it sounds NOTHING like a Tele.

If you are listening to Keith and liking that tone leave the neck pickup alone (or get the Fralin or the Duncan version) and put a Broadcaster in the bridge...

Yeah i dont want to really 'nail' the keith sound. Alittle twang is ok, but i'm trying to get my own sound? And the pick up thing is no problem, my luither has had one of these before and done the same thing, so he knows what to do. Does Seymour e ven make a 3+3 wide range?

You can get a Duncan Widerange from the Custom Shop...truth be tone the Fender Wide range is not all hat bad...it could be better but it's ok.

Re: bridge single coil 72 tele

Thanks for the heads up. I'm thinking of putting a fat cat in there, and an Alnico 2. Although i do like the sound of the broadbucker, but listning back to the 59' i think its alittle too boomy/bassy for a tele

Re: bridge single coil 72 tele

It is, to a certain extent. I like it enough that I'm going to buy a third Tele just to put mine into. It'll be my #3 Tele, but still, a neccessary addition to the family. ;)

Hey guys! Ive decided if ive got a tele, i might as well make the most of it. I have decided on the Lindy Fralin 'twang master' and and steel pole 43. Would match great i think, the steel pole in the bridge at 10K and the twang master at 9/9.5.
