Brigde pickup for Ibanez USA custom

hi! I recently bought an Ibanez USA custom (mahogany back, maple top) and am looking for a pickup that give me a greater, bigger, fatter sound in the bridge position. The guitar has Paf Pro (neck & bridge) and I like the sound in the neck position, but in the bridge sounds very thin. Dimarzio recommended the Air Zone or Breed. In Duncan, what recommend to me? I think maybe Custom 5 or Custom...

If you can tell me the difference between them, would thank for that! The sound that I´m looking for is big and fat on the “bass strings” , kind a Les Paul, you know, big and fat but don´t want a dark sound to make solos.

Thanks!

Ps: my english sucks!!!

Seymour Duncan PATB-3.

LP tone in a 25.5 scale tremolo axe. It IMO has better clarity and better tightness than a LP though.

Thaks theodie! but i´m not looking for a classic les paul sound, i want a more agresive sound, a hot rodded version of a les paul!

The PATB-3 give me that kind of sound? or it´s more classic? that´s why I think in the custom or custom 5 models... Like an hybrid between les paul and RG sound...

Thanks again!

Yes, it is very tight and articulate but, also pulls off LP stuff well. It is warm but, will not sound dark or get muddy. I think it will do trick nicely.

A C5 or a Custom wont get you anywhere near a LP tone in your guitar.

Ok, I live in Argentina, and there´s not trembuckers... I can only find JB, Alnico II pro and one Custom.

From Dimarzio I can find a few more models... so if you can tell me witch dimarzio fits my needs i´ll be pleased!

On the Dimarzio Forum they say that the Norton is a good choice, but i want a couple extra options!

I have a paf pro on the bridge. I want a "fuller" sounding pup. better for palm mute and pinch harmonics but that still retains the clarity of the Pro.

A lot of people say that the breed is too polite sounding pup, so it´s not an option!

So, the Norton is an option... maybe the Super Distortion? :boggled:

If you have to go DiMarzio, then drop a Tone Zone in there.

That´s another option, but i was thinking in the Air Zone. Maybe the Tone is too muddy...

What about the Evo2? (i find the original evo to treble...)

The Super distortion and PAF pro is a nice combo. You mentioned you wanted an aggressive sound. The Super Distortion is pretty aggressive. It also cleans up nice. Good pickup.

Thanks for your answer!

I think the super d really has the kind of aggressive sound i´m looking for (never tried...), but i always think that it has a to vintage sound.

Right now i´m between the Tone Zone (why not!), Air Zone and the super d... If you guys can tell me the difference or the pros an cons of those models, I appreciated!

What about the Evo2?

The pups here are expensive that´s why i´m making all this questions!

a classic LP sound cannot be had from an Ibanez, yes (despite whatever pickups you have in there)?
