Brighter pickups suggestion for a PRS DGT Standard all Mahagony guitar

Hey everyone. I love this guitar. The neck, the weight, the feel. I am having trouble getting along with the pickups. I am looking for a brighter and tighter attack. I realize the all hog wood on this guitar is anti bright with tight attack, but I have traded numerous guitars. I am not trading this one. I have Pearly Gates Plus in the bridge of my strat, and I love it. I like the 498T in the bridge of my Les Paul. Any suggestions for pickup replacements? I still want to be able to split the coils. I don't want to completely neuter what a DGT does, but I am forced to dime the treble and sink the mids on my 6l6 Kustom Coupe, as well as dime the treble on my Visual Sound comp to get any sparkle out of this guitar. I play modern worship at church, and I like textural sounds ala the Edge and Lifeson. I like to bring the gain at times, and there are times when the DGT pickups nail that tone, then the next time I play them it is blanket over the amp city. I want a more present and brighter sound, but not brittle. I also want a warm middle position when I need to cop those Hillsong type worship tunes.

Pearly Gates set?

Pearly Gates set?

Have you ever tried or heard a Custom 5? They're pretty bright humbuckers, but still have enough output to be split and be usable in that context.

I have heard of them. I will check out sound clips. Thanks.

Custom 5. If you're having to roll back the mids and dime the treble, I'd definitely look into the Custom 5. The Duncan Distortion would also work, but it has more mids than the Custom 5.

What would you recommend for the neck position? A brighter sound would be what I would want as well. I wouldn't mind them being purchased as a set.

The DGT has major mids, so that is something I would like to minimize from the pickup.

Check out the Seymour Duncan Jazz neck pickup. It's probably the brightest and clearest pickup Duncan makes. Great neck pickup.

If your all 'hog DGT has mids aplenty and you are looking for some sparkle on top with a tighter attack, the Custom 5, as has been recommended will deliver for you big time. It is a really versatile pickup!

Thanks! Time to sell the DGT pickups, and check out the alternatives.

I had an all mahogany CE-22 and it was warm(dark???) with all mids and not much else, And with the trem it seemed to be one of those guitars that needed a fairly hot bridge pickup or it didn't have much life to it. The custom 5 cleared out the thick heavy midrange and made the guitar sound much more open and bright. I ended up liking the Whole lotta humbucker neck more than the Jazz because it handled the split tones with the 5 way rotary better. The regular custom sh-5 is also really good in that guitar as well, the dark wood takes away any ceramic harsh you might be concerned about.
