I am new to this forum as far as posting, but have used it as a resource on pickup information/opinions for quite a long time. First, thanks to all of the tone freaks and gear nerds on here who spend their free time posting thoughtful responses. I have learned much and enjoyed reading a lot of the coversations that happen here on the forum. I too am afflicted with this sickness.....
So onto it....When I bought this pickup I was looking for a Seth Lover with just a bit "more" and happened upon a Brobucker on ebay. Based on all the opinions I had read here I had to try it out. I generally have not been a fan of A5s, especially bridge pickups, but thought the aged magnet might be a good compromise....it was not. I just can't get used to the treble response with an A5 and, of course, my rig is setup for what I own already which is primarily A2 or Filtertron type buckers. I don't think I'll use it anytime soon and I know there are a lot of guys who love these on here. I have $125 in it, I will sell it for $123.60 ($120 plus 3% paypal) plus actual shipping cost. I'm not sure exactly how to work the details.....though many on here I'm sure do. I suppose a "buy it now" ebay or Reverb transaction? Anyway, first dibs to forum members is the point.
If you're curious, the guitar I tried the Brobucker in was a 2013 LP 70's tribute. The original Dirty Fingers pickups were surprisingly pretty useable, just not great. What I wound up with in the bridge is a modded BB Pro. I took my BB Pro Bridge, switched out the magnet for an A2 (guess where I got that idea) and that pretty much got me where I wanted to be. I put the other BB Pro in the neck and left the A5 for now.....though I'm thinking about an A4 in it.
