Broken floyd rose arm. Total loss??

I'm trying to help a friend, so please don't mock the situation.
His problem stands for the tremolo of a rare japanese-made Yamaha Let It Rock his student broke.
The tremolo arm is threaded just like a Fender vintage tremolo arm and after giving it too many turns, the socket has been damaged. Is is worth (or possible) to repair? It's an excelent piece of equipment but as far as I am aware of Yamaha does not provide assistance outside US and Japan.

Re: Broken floyd rose arm. Total loss??

you can buy new floyd rose trem arms quite easily. There's a little bolt in the back you have to undo and pop in a new collar and be done. I would need a better pic though to ascertain if this trem is truly retrofittable. but i don't think it would be much of an issue.

That could solve the problem. I have played his specific guitar several times and it's incredible how it sustains even if not locked

You can extract the broken piece and then fit another arm. Tell us how it went.

when the owner does it, I'll give some feedback. I'll post photos if possible
