Broken pot or broken toggle?

My neck pickup is dead when the toggle is in it's position but fine in the bridge position. Would this be a dead dead pot or a 1/2 dead toggle switch? How can I figure out which it is without guessing?

Sounds more like the switch. Is this a 1 vol/1 tone, or what?

I'm no expert but I guess this means you have a dedicated volume and tone for each pu, thus, if either one was faulty then wouldn't it stay that way regardless of the position on the 3-way?

When you say it's fine when on the bridge position you mean when it's set for both pus to play (more logical) or the bridge pu only (utterly strange)?

I just replaced the 3 way toggle for a new one. I Still have the same problem. I assume the problem is the audio taper or it's tone pot. wiring looks cool. I hope the pots solve the problem

Y know it could just be a faulty wiring, check that before you go changing all the parts of your guitar...
