Broken SH-13 Dimebucker need advice.

I have a Dimebucker that a guy sold me and the threads in one of the tabs was gone. :angryfire I stupidly thought I could just put a little bit bigger screw in it, which was to big and cracked the mounting tab from the hole straight out to the side. :banghead: It's a single straight crack, nothing chipped out. I'm thinking I should glue it and then retap it for the original screw but I'm not sure what I should glue it with and still have it stay strong enough to keep the spring from pulling the threads back out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I had exactly the same problem. stupid plastic tabs . it wont glue and stay tight enough . at least I couldnt

I cut the tab off and old crappy stock pick up with snips and glued that to the base of the palstic tab

What I did in the same situation was I covered the tab in JB weld epoxy then sanded it back flat and retapped the JB weld. Cheameup's fix is probably stronger but mines held for 7 years like that

I had to do that with a set of Ultrasonics that had been direct mounted. As long as you're not constantly removing/reinstalling them, they'll be fine. Bonus: you can set them up to use a normal friggin screw. I have no idea why Lawrences (and the Dimebucker) are designed for what's basically a finishing wood screw to screw directly into the plastic.
