I'm very confused as to why the 50 watt head is considerably less than the 20 watt head (new). Lesser in quality? :o

I'm seeing a 50 dollar MSRP difference so that's not that much less. Still, that's a good question but my guess is maybe because the G20 has a more complex EQ section? Maybe also because it's supposedly true class A. It probably also cost a little more to build the "tolex" covered cabinet for the G20 versus the metal cage for the T50. But I don't think it's a quality difference. They are all pretty cheap amps. Thin boards and generic components. I have a Tri Rec and a V22 HD. The Tri Rec I bought used but it's their most expensive amp. It doesn't seem any better built in terms of overall build. Besides the higher power requiring bigger, more expensive transformers and more tubes, it's got far more internal components and is a more complex with multiple boards, relays and their Varipower. The boards and the components themselves don't look to be of any better quality. I assume this would probably hold true across their entire line but you never know.

Thanks a lot! Hehe yeah I guess I'm safe then if I go for more wattage for the lower price. ;)

whoa hold on there... do you actually NEED 50 watts? Very very few people do. 20 watts is about the sweet spot for practice and club work. If you are going to play live and need more volume than 20 watts will deliver, just mic it.

50 watts is VERY loud if you want to get that cranked tube sound. VERY loud as in your neighbors might call the cops, your dog will disown you, your wife/mother/roommates will get angry every time you play, you might go deaf... etc...

HAHA I guess you're right. I play clubs concert halls and festivals. Just mainly worried about the clubs because those are unmic'd.

Would even 5 watts do unmic'd?

Re: Bugera G20 vs T50?

5 watts... I wouldn't use that without a mic in most clubs. 15 to 25 watts is about right. Pair of 6V6 or EL84 output tubes.
