Build a Line selector?

Inspired by the long signal chain thread, I was wondering; how hard would it be to build a line selector pedal? And how much? Not looking for anything complicated, just looking for something that allows you to have a parallel effects chain that you can turn on and off. Also what parts? I know I'd need four jacks, two for the imput/output and two more for the send/return, anything else though????

Any info is much appreciated.

Re: Build a Line selector?

the only other things your gonna need are a box and a switch

you might want to go with a 3 pole switch for the simple fact that you can add an LED to let you know when your loop is on

Re: Build a Line selector?

Ok. Now I need a schematic. I know there are DIY pedal websites. Anyone have a link to a wiring diagram for a line selector pedal? Also, any way to make the pedal true bypass when it's off?

I know nothing about building pedals so any info/help is much appreciated!

Thanks.

Re: Build a Line selector?

Very easy, you want a true bypass looper. Here are a few links for the schematic and a project page. As skyydogg said, all you need is a switch, enclosure and an LED.

With these, you leave the pedal on all the time, then stomp the looper to activate it. You can put single effects in a loop to make them TB or you can put a collection in there, say if you want to go from clean to distortion w/ delay and chorus.

OH, stupid me, should've mentioned. I don't use batteries, I'm an AC power guy. How do I incorporate that into it and where do I get the jack for it?

Re: Build a Line selector?

I love the Boss Line Selector... I use it all the time.... so i'm interested in this build.... let us see some photos and stuff as you get going!

Re: Build a Line selector?

Well. Once I find out how to do this, with an AC jack wired in, I'll get some money, build it, photograph the process and let you guys know how it goes. Still looking for anymore knowledge anyone might have. ANY would be appreciated.

Re: Build a Line selector?

HELP! Anyone seen the bottom of a Digitech pedal, specifically the Hot Head Distortion? I have a broken one which probably has some salvage-able parts. I want to know how to bust it open. Hopw do I remove that weird circular screws? (I want to possibly use the chasis for a pedal too, maybe even this line selector).
