i recently snagged a 1974 marshall 1960 cab. and no its not loaded with greenbacks, i bought it empty :(. buut its in flawless condition and i NEED to preserve it. but i cant just not use it. so i need a roadcase.

anyone ever built one? im a real mechanical guy, so it shouldn't be TOO hard. but where should i get the materials?

Oh Man, you are in for an experience. Wait until you price casters. 3/8" ply can start to seem a bit flimsy for the lift off top, just because of the size. But then 1/2" will be heavier. We had a lot of our stuff built by Angstrom in Canada.
Anyway.... don't let me discourage you. No carpenter am I. Try the guys below for starters.
Good Luck

I think Parts Express has everything you need.

Also, for less-than full-time road use, consider a padded softcase. Studio Slips made me a custom padded cover for my DIY combo amp. Highly recommended.

Edit: NOW I remember! Penn Elcom is where I got my hard-to-find hardware. They have everything.

yeahh i just hope parts are under $500. which is what ive found to be a reasonable price for a new case.

as for the time, i enjoy building things so i dont mind at all :)
