Building a cab!

A buddy of mine is going to grab a silverface 68 bassman from the same guy that i bought my blonde bandmaster from and make a 1x15 cab for it.

What wood? Birch? Pine? He's probably going with a Weber Michigan 15 inch Electrovoice replica. It will need to hold up to loudness.

Finally, what joint style should we use on the corners? Finger jointing with a router? Just plain glue?

Hey John, I'm curious about why "dressed both sides". Is there a structural reason for that? I'd just assumed that the inside didn't matter, and the outside would be covered.

Just curious, because I'm working on one myself.

I just put the top plates on top of the side plates, and it works well..... glue and screws!

It's going to be an inexpensive type route of doing things, so we're probably going to wing the tolex and just paint the cab.

Any comments on the speaker?
