building a fender reverb unit

im looking to build a fender reverb unit from scratch. I've checked out the schematics and its not all that pricey-the most expensive components are the trannies, spring unit and tubes, and that tallies up to no more than 120 bucks (cheaper probably). Anybody got a site that can provide a comprehensive parts list for me to check out so i could continue my quest for tone?

which reverb tank is closest in tone to a standard fender reverb tank from the 60's?
long, mid, short, 3 or 2 springs?

is there any way to make a very simple one knob reverb unit like the ones that are integrated into blackface reverb amps? Like 6V6>Transformer>reverb tank>return 12ax7
