Building an HSS strat. How's the SSL-6 in the neck pair with a JB?

So I'm putting together a Warmoth strat, I've already decided on a JB in the bridge. I want true single coils in the neck and middle but I want something that will keep up with the JB.

I play mostly heavy blues and instrumental rock. I want something fat and beefy sounding but I want it to sound very stratty.
I was thinking about the SSL-6 in the neck but I've read on here that it can be really dark, which is fine as long as it retains that single coil jangle (think Little Wing).

Part two of the question is would that setup work better with 250k or 500k pots? I'm not sure if the SSL-6 would be too dark in the neck with 250k pots or the JB would be too bright with 500k pots.

Basically I just want some good single coils to go with a JB.

Body is ash, fretboard is rosewood, bridge is a Wilkinson tremolo.
Thanks for any advice!

I had a SSL-6 and a JB in an HSS config for over two decades.

The SSL-6 is not dark at all. It works fine with 500k pots, but I think it and the JB are better with 250k.

They are a great pair!!!
