Building hybrids with braided cable?

I have two p'ups with braided cable and no 4-conducter...Is the Hybrid still possible with this? Any different instructions to follow other than the ones posted? Thanks! I'm getting prepped to do it!

Yes it's the same as Bach To Rock's instructions in that awesome thread of his. One thing that Pete let me know which I would have no clue without his knowledge was that on those 2 conductor pickups, the coils both have black wires so you need to know which is which. From my memory and Pete correct me if I am wrong, the black wire coming from the bottom of the bobbin would be just like the normal black wire from a 4 conductor pickup, and the black wire coming from the middle of the bobbin is the same as a typical white wire from a 4 pickup.

The tricky part I had was how do you hook the braiuded cable to the coils. Well the black wire (bottom black wire) from the coil opposite of the braided cable cable gets soldered to it, and the black wire (also from the bottom) of the other coil gets soldered to the ground blob of solder on the opposite corner of the baseplate of the braided cable. I just did this last week on a hybrid I did: an AIIPro/Full Shred Neck A5. Sounds sweet!

I ALWAYS use that as an opportunity to switch to 4-conductor. Just a suggestion.

Wire either the two start leads OR the two finish leads together and tape them off. Your two remaining leads are your hot and ground. The ground lead (make sure you have the right one or you'll have to flip your magnet -- hardly a disaster but it's a small extra hassle to avoid) you can solder directly to the baseplate because with the old school 2-conductor braid wire, you solder the braid to the baseplate.
