Burst Bucker 1 in the brigde of a bright Les Paul.

I recently aquired a Gibson BB1, I did'nt need it but what the heck.
I'm thinking about going low output and putting the BB1 in the bridge of a
bright Les Paul. The pickup has an A2 mag with a dc reading of 7.95.
I will be playing through a Mesa Single Recto and a Marshall Dsl 50,
Anyone ever tried this?
Thanks in advance.

It'll sound fine if you find a nice neck pickup to match. It's designed as a neck pickup, but if you like a clean and trebly bridge pickup, you can usually use a neck pickup there and be happy with it. Gibson never wound neck and bridge versions back the the "glory years." They just grabbed two from a pile, and put them in.

If the guitar is already bright a BB1 might be a tad thin for the bridge position but you've already got it so it's worth trying...

It may be too low output and bright in your LP. It's a great neck pickup though.

I think you should look for a used BB2 or BB3 for your bridge, and use the BB1 in the neck.

Crank the bass and mids and gain toll back the treble and go for it!
