Buying a new guitar... ideas?

My price range is around $850 AUD ~ $640 USD. Im looking for something like a PRS or Brian Moore, possibly with stock Seymour Duncan pickups with either a standard trem or a floyd rose style. Basically a slightly rounder than usual strat shape with a flamed top that cleans up nicely and has a good distortion crunch.
What should i look out for?

its not really the look im after, they dont make jacksons with flamed tops and gold hardward do they?

gold? maybe not, and they have a DX10D and i THINK it has a sunburst finish

i forgot to mention im looking in the second hand market, anything up to 25 years old.

well it's not a flame top...only black...but it does have a rounder strat shape and a floyd and is in your price range and a killer guitar...

that scheter is about $1500 AUD... a little above my price range but ill look out for one second hand, looks awesome :D

If you like hardtails, I'd look into a newer Yamaha AES series guitar. I beleive tehir midline instruments come stock with a JB at the bridge. FOr the price, Yamaha makes a great guitar with EXCELLENT fretwork. :)

EDIT:
Darn, didn't read the part about the strat shaped body until after I posted. I'd still look at the Yamahas though. They did a great job of giving the Les Paul a modern twist with the new AES series.

i thought you said $640US? the schecter is like $500-600 i think.
