Buying Duncans for SG....and need some advice

Well, as you can see, I'm quite new to this community, and I was wondering......

I'm planning on buying a set of Phat Cats for my Epiphone G-310, and what I've read about them, they have what i want....or do they?

I'm looking for a punchy, sort of Townshend SG tone, but also a pickup good for Classic Blues/Rock.....and a twist of good tone for solos.

Any help would be appreciated, and, HI EVERYBODY! (in the Duncan community!!!)

Welcome to the Board!

C5 for the bridge will sound killer. It's a beefed up A5 PAF-type pickup, under gain it can do Classic Rock to Metal, clean it has a nice glassy tone with that classic PAF twang. It will work well in just about any type of guitar.

Phat Cats I'm not as famliiar with. Some people say they are do P-90s well, some say they don't.

The Phat Cat is a P-90 in a bucker size housing and sinec Pete used P-90's in his SG you are on the right track!

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your tonal search!

BTW, you can always do a search and see what others have posted in the past about Phat Cats.

Welcome to the forum. Now if you'd only change that Q107 to 97.7, you'll be all set.
