Buzz problems

I've come across a strange problem which you guys might be able to help me with...

I bought a used Schecter C1+ recently. It had a 9-42 set on, the string action was a little too high, but there were no buzz at all.
I changed strings to a set of cheap 10-46 I had laying around and adjusted neck relief, lowered the action and intonated.
I've got some serious buzz on the D-string on openm and at the first 3 frets, but nowhere else...
OK, I thought it could be a bad string since these are really cheap ones. I got a set of Ernie Ball 10-46, gave it some more neck relief and raised the string action.
Guess what? Now I've got no buzz on the D-string, but instead buzzing occured on the A-string around frets 5-8...!?
Where the hell did this come from, it was fine with lower string action? I've checked the neck relief, it seems OK.
I'd appreciate any help, I just can't figure this out... :yell:
