Bye Bye '87 Pro 540R, Hellow '92 RG-550 Deluxe!!!

Sold the '87 Ibanez Roadstar Pro 540R BlueBurst just over a week ago and used the proceeds to pick this up on Friday via a CL Deal...I've got a soft spot for the old Ibanez Super Strats!!!

1992 Ibanez RG550 Deluxe - MIJ, Laser Blue/Blue Mirrored Pickguard, Cosmo Chrome Hardware, Ibanez Edge Pro Tremolo. Last year for the "Square Heel" Neck. It's a good one with very little wear; everything is assembled nicely and lines up perfectly centered on the fretboard. Plays very smoothly as an old RG550 should!!! 100% Original Ibanez.

Those are my guilty pleasure guitars right there even though the necks are thinner than I like.

Yep...I so regret selling off the 1991 RG565 Fully Scalloped Neck/Swirled RG550 Bodied Mutt I had...really wish I had kept that one...

i had that same guitar for years!! i ended up with a fred in the bridge and loved it with the v1 and s1. yours seems newer than mine though

Meh, Radius pwns RG any day of the week . For me the only RGs are the '86 ones.

Nice snag though; yes, 1992 is the last year of the square heel. Trem's in great condition.

Thanks all. Hey, I dig the 540R Guitars (esp. the Red Burst/BlueBurst), but the one I had needed a bit of work so I let it go. The RG550DX was the same price as I paid for the the 540R and in way better shape.

If I had the dough, Id collect 80s Kramers, RGs and gunslingers. Love to know where all the killer custom painted ones went..??

Id still love to have 550 with a maple board tho.. And a 770 with the colored inlays, clear guard and such... Just wish I could shred and be worthy of such a killer tool!! :smack:

Got her up for sale in the Classifieds in a few places as well as on eBay, but I'm about to say "F-it" and do some upgrades and keep tha little beotch...

SD Slash Neck HB

Vintage Gibson Dirty Fingers Bridge HB

...along with a DiMarzio SDS-1 in the middle and add a 32mm Magnum Big Brass Block to the Edge along with a conversion to an OFR Arm...and maybe...just maybe...a Shred Legacy Full Malmsteen Scallop to the neck!!! I really do miss the Franken-Swirl.
