Used my Mahogany Gordon Smith strat...

Solo is the C-5 too.

Must've had this axe over 9 months now, and the only thing I like the C-5 for is drop tuned metal.. it seems to stay nice and clear when down low, and the mids aren't overbearing by any stretch.. I've gotta get the nut re cut one day so I can get some proper beefy strings, atm I'm using not even slinkies and the 56 bass isn't tight enough when I drop to B.

I haven't posted much lately but this is the kinda style I've been playing. "Modern metal" with the odd weird time sig here and there.

nice riff, solo could do with being quite a bit louder though.

edit - sorry read that wrongly the first time around... the solo isn't meant to be over bearing, it's meant to be a kinda backround thing. Though listening back it could do with a tiny bit of a boost, it gets lost when I go lower down..

Any comments on the solo would be appreciated; it's been some months since I had any lessons

Damn, I really like that tone! Very cool! Was this the guitarport again? The solo, as always, was way too good. You suck!

Yeah that was the guitar port. I think you'll really get along with that XT you're getting if you like this kinda tone.. I used the spinal puppet amp model for this and I think the line 6 4x12 cab.

Cheers for checking it out :D

That was cool bro. What are you using for drum sounds? Everything sounded good. Nice arrangement and solo.

Kontakt player silver.. it comes with Sibelius. I scored out the drums notation style and let kontakt player do all the hard work.

Sibelius isn't cheap but it's worth every penny if you can read music. My sight reading is p1ss poor but if I take my time I can notate my arrangements and record them through kontakt player etc... so very rewarding. I find the drum kit sounds alright as well so it gets used for my guitar backings also.

Re: C-5 clip... Drop B metal

i liked your more than the deadskinslayer 666 tone´s, BUT it´s still not my personal tone tastes ahahaha but it doesn´t matter
this kind of modern metal with unholy breakdown tempos is kinda the stuff i like and play... remember that song we started together (and we wil lfinish when i get home)? ahahah the lead is very good with feeling. i love the leads that begin with a feeling bend in the beginning. like CORONER leads on MENTAL VORTEX Cd. ahahah awesome.
the only problem i see on this clip is that the drums doesn´t match the guitar rhythms very well AND the guitars are not loud enough in the mix
Q:)
otherwise, keep grinding
unholy CHEERS
