Calling all luthiers!

I just bought an Ibanez JS1000 on ebay, but turns out the neck is bent, just a little right where the neck meets the body. It is more noticable on the low E side. I like the action low, and that was pretty much impossible with the neck like that. I have tried to tighten the truss rod as much as possible and have been able to get it fairly straight, but last night at a gig I noticed it must have been bending again, kept having to tune it higher and higher all night and started having some issues with strings binding at the higher frets (probably because it was quite warm in the bar I was playing). Should I just keep trying to tighten the neck more, or should I take it in to a luthier for some more extensive work? Is there anything else I can do myself?

Re: Calling all luthiers!

i'd have someone look at that guitar in person.....

sounds really strange the trouble is right where the neck meets the body.... careful with the truss rod as you could snap it...

Re: Calling all luthiers!

Have a qualified person look at it.

Re: Calling all luthiers!

I've heard some things about Ibanez truss rods (that I can't verify) and I'm not sure how much they'll take before that break on you. You probably do need to bring it to a pro.

Re: Calling all luthiers!

Absolutely. Sounds like a neck reset to me.

Don't bring it to me please I have enough on my plate... ;)
