Hey everyone, I am Emanuele from Italy, first post here so be kind with me
.
I'm asking for your help, since I tried to contact SD directly a pair of times, but unluckily I received no feedback.
So, this is my situation: I am a guitar builder from Italy, and I am modding one of my guitars according to the taste of my customer. The guitar we're talking about is a stage acoustic, with an undersaddle acoustic piezo and 2 magnetic pickups.
Actually it mounts a B-Band preamp, but the customer kindly asked me if it was possible to mount a more tweakable preamp, since the B-band controls only the high and treble EQ and he needs also the midrange control.
Anyway, since we wanted the pots to be NOT installed in a single, fixed PCB, but free to install wherever whished, I have not many choices available in the market. To explain better what I'm talking about, here's a pic of the guitar:
as you can see, the pots are arranged as an electric guitar, and I would like to keep this feature instead of mounting that ugly black plastic preamps, or modding them.
So, I found this Duncan bass preamp, that seems to be perfect for our needs, since it controls every aspect of the sound, also thanks to the two trim pots. The idea is to use this as a preamp for my actual B-band piezo - BUT, this is born as a bass preamp, and what I'm asking is that if this could be a problem (boost/cut of some frequencies, impedance levels...). I have never tried this before, so I'm asking you if this thing makes sense or not.
Thank you everyone in advance for your kind help!
Emanuele
