Can a vocal mike be run through a s.s. guitar amp?

I don't know jack about mic's and my son wants to know if a vocal mike will work through a 15 watt solid state guitar amp for garage band use.

Keep the ridicule at a minimum, please!

i was at a function where the MC actually did that. it sounded quite bad, cos i think the gain was on and he dint really EQed it properly.

i tried that at home just for fun out of curiosity too hahah, its ok. you can hear the words and stuff.

True. Full range speakers work better for vocals.

Now, an acoustic guitar amp is an entirely different animal.

Works okay, not great. You probably need to have a 1/4" plug on your mic cord, or an adapter that converts the XLR to 1/4" plug.
