namely the revolution and the krankenstein. Id me looking for the heavyer and more brutal of the two but was wondering what the real differences are that people have noticed.
The Krankenstein is stiffer feeling, and will feel/sound more like an SS amp than the Rev1. It'll be a bit more sterile, but will also be a bit tighter.
I personally the bit of organicness in the Rev1 over the Krankenstein.
That said, both are MORE than capable of pulling off insane tones!
I was in GC yest and some guy was testing his REV (He had it on layaway, it had been traded in by Jim Root) And it sounded amazing!! First time Id heard one in person. How do they hold up?? Ive heard they have reliability issues.. True?? It was amazingly clean looking in the box and the transformeer was huge..

No, they hold up extremely well. The only case I've heard of them going down was when Jon Donais of Shadows Fall left them on to warm up (not just in standby, completely on) without cabs attached before a show.

That would ruin any tube amp.. sadly, that detail is not mentioned most of the time and has tarnished their rep.. that and the harmony central reviews...
But, if they are good amps, Id like to know more.. wish I could try the JR...

The Harmony Central reviews thing really pisses me off, actually. The stupid lady in marketing who posted all of those reviews was fired immediately after she was found out - it's not like the company condones that kind of activity.
