Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Does anyone have some tips for me on how to improve my improv? It always seems to come out a little too aimless and meandering for my tastes . . . I've just recently learned to follow chord changes. . . . sad as it may be I used to just pick a key and whip out the ole pentatonic scale.)

Hehee ,what i can tell from my self improv. problems ,try to bend every tone to fit your "soul" or your "emotion".Next time you will hit the right one.
Take some songs ,mostly new age with a lot of keys ,and try to solo on them.You will see that helps alot ,cos you learn to react on the changes that you don't know ,wich leads you to improv.!!!
